MEANING & HISTORY
What does Remo mean?
Remo is the Italian form of Remus, one of the legendary twins connected with Rome’s founding. The ultimate etymology of Remus is uncertain; a proposed connection with an older word for twin is plausible but not established beyond doubt.
The ending o reflects Italian adaptation. The name should not automatically be interpreted through the ordinary Italian word remo, oar.
