MEANING & HISTORY
What does Rosaura mean?
Rosaura combines Latin rosa, rose, and aurea, golden. Pedro Calderón de la Barca used it for a character in Life Is a Dream, giving it a prominent literary transmission.
The compound is rose and gold rather than rosa plus the separate Latin word aura, breeze. That distinction matters because the similar-looking second element can lead to a different invented translation.
