MEANING & HISTORY
What does Rosita mean?
Rosita adds a Spanish diminutive ending to Rosa. Rosa is ordinarily connected with the Latin and Spanish word for rose, so little rose is a natural traditional interpretation of this formation.
The ending can convey affection rather than physical size. Rosita is also an established independent personal name, and its bearer need not have Rosa as another official name. The immediate Spanish structure is more informative than inventing additional meanings for individual syllables.
