MEANING & HISTORY
What does Dionisio mean?
Dionisio is a Spanish and Italian form of Latin Dionysius, from Greek Dionysios. The Greek name refers to Dionysus, the god associated with wine.
Christian saints, including Dionysius the Areopagite, helped preserve it after classical antiquity. Follower of Dionysus is a conventional explanation of the relation, not a claim about the present beliefs of a bearer.
