MEANING & HISTORY
What does Karim mean?
Karim comes from Arabic karim, generous or noble. The dictionary supplies the borrowing and lexical senses, independently corroborated by the editorial name entry.
The same Arabic adjective also appears in religious vocabulary, but a particular bearer’s name does not establish a religious office or theological claim. Karim and Kareem can represent related Latin-letter spellings without becoming identical in personal records. The direct adjective gives a specific meaning; adding prince, warrior or other attractive roles would go beyond the documented formation.
