MEANING & HISTORY
What does Mila Perpetua mean?
Mila Perpetua combines the names Mila and Perpetua. Mila is associated with Slavic mil, dear or gracious. It developed as a short form of names containing that element, including Ludmila and Milena, and became independent.
Other languages also use Mila through different familiar-name routes. Perpetua is the feminine Latin form connected with perpetuus, continuous or perpetual. The early Christian martyr Perpetua, commemorated with Felicity, helped preserve the personal name.
Later Spanish transmission carried it into Philippine naming.
