MEANING & HISTORY
What does Perpetua mean?
Perpetua is the feminine Latin form connected with perpetuus, continuous or perpetual. The early Christian martyr Perpetua, commemorated with Felicity, helped preserve the personal name.
Later Spanish transmission carried it into Philippine naming. Its inherited adjective is more precise than treating it as a modern English abbreviation or assigning the unrelated meaning purity.
