MEANING & HISTORY
What does Tonying mean?
Tonying is explicitly formed from Tonyo with -ing in Tagalog, and the source relates it to Antonio and Anthony. This two-stage local construction establishes the name family without resolving the ancient origin of Antonius.
The familiar ending is not a second word meaning flower or precious. Tonying can be an independent recorded name even when the dictionary explains its historical relation to longer forms.
