MEANING & HISTORY
What does Venancio mean?
Venancio is the Spanish and Portuguese form of Latin Venantius. The Latin name is based on venans, hunting, chasing or pursuing.
Early saints helped preserve it as a personal name. Hunter is a convenient explanation of that action word, but the name’s root does not establish a modern bearer’s occupation. The Latin chain is more exact than a loose association with victory.
