MEANING & HISTORY
What does Victoriana mean?
Victoriana is the feminine counterpart of Latin Victorianus, a derivative of Victor. The older name family belongs to Latin victory vocabulary.
The Spanish form supplied one route into later English use. The dictionary also records surface analyses with Victoria and the feminine ending ana, but the inherited Latin formation has its own history. It should not be reduced to someone born during Queen Victoria’s reign: that is a possible modern association, not the original structure of the personal name.
