MEANING & HISTORY
What does Joaquina mean?
Joaquina is the Spanish and Portuguese feminine form of Joaquín or Joaquim. These continue Joachim, from the Hebrew Yehoyaqim tradition, conventionally the Lord establishes.
The final a marks the feminine adaptation of the transmitted name. It is not a feminine version of John despite the similar opening letters, and its root concerns establishing rather than graciousness.
